About the Position: The mission of the CCAD is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. We provide worldwide on-site maintenance services, aircraft crash analysis, lubricating oil analysis, chemical, metallurgical and training support. Responsibilities Perform moderate repairs to electrical panels, stand-by generators, air conditioning systems, air compressors, boilers, and transformers. Perform minor repairs of plumbing facilities such as replacing faucets, hose connections, lawn irrigation devices, drains, pipe, water heaters, steam regulating valves, steam traps and miscellaneous fixtures. Assist higher graded employees in installing, constructing, repairing or modifying items and structures such as panels, bins, concrete forms, dry walls, shelves, framework, doors, finished paneling, interior and exterior trim. Diagnose proper metering device operation, sequence of operation, proper heat transfer and air flow issues. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Maintenance Worker (Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning) without more than normal supervision. The ability to perform common duties such as install, change, and repair light switches, checking for blown fuses, checking for defective breakers, and checking for overloaded circuit breakers. Skilled in changing air conditioning filters and belts, clearing drain lines, equipment vibration, reads temperature and pressure gauges. Skilled in performing a variety of maintenance duties such as maintenance and repair of HVAC, grounds, exterior structures, buildings and related fixtures and utilities using a variety of trade practices such as carpentry, plumbing, painting, and electrical work and other related trades. Replace/repair electrical systems, lighting fixtures, switches, sockets, etc.; heating systems, repair/replacement of plumbing fixtures, etc.; basic carpentry, general painting. Work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading) Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc. Knowledge of Materials Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Use of Measuring Instruments Physical Efforts: Use moderate physical effort in the process of stacking, loading, unloading, moving, and carrying tools, equipment, and materials ranging in weight from 10 lbs. to 50 lbs. Occasionally is required to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Occasionally works in cramped quarters. Is required to expend strenuous effort in moving materials along with adjusting and placing heavy equipment. Working Conditions: Preponderance of work is performed outside in extremes of temperature and weather conditions. Is subject to strains and similar types of injuries from lifting tools, heavy equipment, and materials. Is frequently exposed to the possibility of broken bones, cuts, bruises, maimed fingers and scrapes. Occasionally is required to wear uncomfortable protective clothing. Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required.
