Valero Staff Control Systems Engineer in CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas

Description:
* o Manages or assists in management of active control systems projects. o Generates control systems functional specifications; provides liaison with vendors and consultants to develop system specifications. o Ensures quality of purchased control systems and vendor services, including participation in acceptance testing. o Configures and builds basic control and data acquisition loops on refinery DCS. o Monitors, evaluates, programs, configures and tunes refinery DCS. o Configures DCS operator displays, reports, trends, historians and alarm summaries. o Monitors, evaluates and programs, configures and tunes refinery Advanced Control Systems. o Programs, configures and troubleshoots PLC’s and other small controllers. o Maintains control system documentation and Management of Change (MOC). o Evaluates and assists with control systems training. o Interfaces with technical and non-technical personnel in proposing and implementing control system upgrades. o Provides input pertaining to control systems controllably, maintainability, costs, and process optimization. o Follows all safety rules and guidelines as established by the Refinery.

This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s or higher level degree in Engineering required. * 8 years of process control/advanced process control experience required. * Bachelor’s or higher level degree - in Instrument, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering preferred. * Process engineering experience preferred. * Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero Bill Greehey Refinery, required.

Position level and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
