ICF Environmental Chemist, Laboratory QA/QC Coordinator in Corvallis, Oregon
Description
ICF is looking for an Environmental Laboratory Chemist to join our team providing laboratory, field, and quality assurance (QA) support of environmental projects. The Environmental Chemist will apply their knowledge and work experience to support a wide range of laboratory QA and QC activities and data evaluation. All team activities must comply with EPA methods for various media (air, water, soil, biota) and environmental programs as well as the NELAC standard (2016). This position serves as the team lead for laboratory and field quality assurance of environmental chemistry and related activities. Duties include working with the team to prepare and maintain written procedures (SOPs) for the performance of the above tasks and providing technical leadership to junior staff in performance of the above tasks. The Environmental Chemist will interact with, and communicate detailed technical information to, ICF environmental chemists, external experts, and clients. The successful candidate must be able to work both independently and as member of a team.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors in chemistry (preferred) or related field such as geology, physics, environmental science, hydrogeology, or environmental sciences.
Minimum 4 years laboratory experience in environmental, analytical instrumentation such as GC, GC/MS, ICP/AES, or ICP/MS, using EPA methodologies. These years of experience must also include the following:
Familiarity with EPA analytical chemistry methods and the NELAC standard.
Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMSs).
The successful candidate must have or be able to obtain authorization for access to Federal facilities.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
8 years of progressive experience in environmental laboratories.
Experience working at Federal facilities.
Previous or current supervisory or leadership responsibilities in an environmental laboratory.
Experience applying EPA National Functional Guidelines for Data Validation.
Experience related to contaminated site characterization, remediation, and optimization at contaminated sites including Superfund, Brownfields, and RCRA Corrective Action sites.
Experience preparing and reviewing environmental sampling and analysis plans and quality assurance project plans.
Experience with Promium “Element” LIMS and/or “Qualtrax” quality management software.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:
$64,273.00 - $109,264.00
