As the Network Engineer you are responsible for implementing and maintaining network and security solutions that meet the clinical and business needs of The Corvallis Clinic. The position requires excellent relevant technical skills and skills in the areas of interpersonal communications, writing, and project management.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Architect and implement future network and security designs. Coordinates with adjacent teams to ensure an integrated design. Stay abreast of technologies to steer the future course of network and security structures. Evaluates technologies, services, and vendors

  • Tracks contract expirations, manages service contract negotiations, and maintains vendor relationships to ensure supportability of the infrastructure. Where contracts cannot be renewed, informs management of potential risks, and mitigate where possible. Coordinates with external vendor and partners to resolve issues across the full breadth of network, wireless and security

  • Performs investigations to determine RCA (root cause analysis). Provides remediation recommendations and implement as appropriate

  • Knowledge of job adjacencies (System Administration, Phone Administration, Application Development, Database Management, Desktop and Helpdesk support) sufficient to understand integrations issues and support inter-discipline troubleshooting

  • Manages and directs external vendors providing services, fulfilling contracts and performing work directly in our environment

  • Coordinates and supports, as appropriate, with external businesses renting, partnering, or working out of our facilities as needed

  • Addresses environmental concerns (Power/UPS/HVAC) as needed and coordinates with appropriate groups. Manages replacement of UPS systems specific for ITS

  • Performs off hours work as dictated by the business needs

  • Performs additional duties as assigned. Currently this includes, but is not limited to:

  • Maintaining the phone system ecosystem including, but not limited to:

  • Cisco Call Manager

  • Unity Voicemail

  • Contact Center Express (phone queues)

  • IM and Presence

  • Associated Voice Gateways

  • SIP services with Comcast

  • Webex

  • Via the auspices of CompuNet. Working with them to architect and design the path forward on the phone system ecology

  • Basic maintenance on the physical security system (aurora). Coordinates adds, moves, changes to the physical hardware (new sites, back panels, and doors). Consults on new building build outs and remodels as relevant to job duties

  • Documents support procedures

  • Performs other duties within the scope of this position as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • The following combination of experience and education will be considered:

  • Associate degree with 12+ years of relevant experience

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ of years relevant experience

  • Master’s degree with 5+ of years relevant experience

  • At least 1 of the following Cisco network and security certifications (CCIE, CCNP, CCNA) or equivalents

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fully understand the complexities within a multi-specialty operation

  • Ability to work compatibly with patients, physicians, and other staff

  • Ability to set benchmarks and standards to meet and exceed expectations of The Clinic
