Job Description:

Role Summary/Purpose:

Reporting to the VP Capital and ACL Oversight, this role will provide effective challenge and oversight of the Capital Planning and Stress Testing team's processes and activities.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Review capital management Non-Model Tools for accuracy, reasonableness and governance controls

  • Review overlay spreadsheets, adjustments and assumptions

  • Review build out and conduct ongoing monitoring of recovery and resolution plans

  • Evaluate and monitor capital buffers and limits

  • Review of policy/procedure framework for stress testing, recovery planning and resolution planning

  • Conduct review of capital request calculations

  • Review stress pricing factor and capital charge calculations and assumptions

  • Assist in compiling materials for internal audit and regulatory examinations

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of work experience in a consumer credit, capital planning or risk analytics role

  • In lieu of a degree, 7+ years of experience in consumer credit, capital planning or a risk analytics role with 2+ years' experience in commercial and/or consumer lending

  • Exceptional MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Desired Characteristics:

  • Highly motivated and team player

  • Strong communication skills with ability to prepare clear communication and confidently present meaningful analysis to senior and executive management

  • Ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously

  • Demonstrated experience analyzing risk/business data with the ability to distill large amounts of information down to the critical areas of focus

  • Familiarity with current Synchrony Financial operating systems

  • Experience with FRB and/or OCC regulatory reporting requirements

Grade/Level: 10

The salary range for this position is 75,000.00 - 130,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
