Robert Half Medical Billing Specialist in Costa Mesa, California

Description We are offering a role in the healthcare industry for a Medical Billing Specialist based in Costa Mesa, California. This role involves a meticulous process of managing and resolving medical claims and billing-related tasks. It is a contract role that provides an opportunity to work in a structured and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

• Respond to inquiries related to medical claims, eligibility, and authorizations.

• Ensure records are up to date, accurate and report any issues encountered.

• Work in compliance with regulatory guidelines and health plan requirements.

• Document actions taken in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.

• Assist in customer service and member services, working with providers and billing offices when needed.

• Maintain databases, audit information and process patient payments.

• Follow up with insurance companies on outstanding or unpaid claims.

• Create and send statements to patients.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel and Word for documentation and record-keeping.

• Adhere to protocols and ensure accuracy in medical billing and claim administration.

• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and other regulatory compliance related to medical billing and claims. Requirements

COMFORTABLE WORKING IN OFFICE. THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN COSTA MESA, CA. THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION!

• Demonstrable proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word

• Prior experience in medical billing and claim administration

• Proficiency in database management

• Strong customer service skills

• Ability to ensure compliance with regulatory protocols, including HIPAA regulations

• Experience working with insurance companies

• Superior documentation skills

• Familiarity with CPT Codes, Medical Claims, ICD-10, and HCPCS Coding

• Proficiency in EMR - Electronic Medical Records

• Understanding of health plan administration

• Ability to ensure accuracy in all tasks performed

• Experience conducting audits in a healthcare setting

• Ability to handle authorizations in a medical setting

• Strong typing skills

• Commitment to regulatory compliance in all tasks performed.
