Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Payment Poster & Research Specialist in Costa Mesa, California. As part of our team, you will be tasked with handling insurance and patient payments, collaborating with various departments and external partners, and maintaining accurate financial records. The role requires a high level of accuracy and efficiency, with responsibilities spanning from processing payments to researching discrepancies.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately and efficiently process electronic and manual insurance payments and patient payments.
• Coordinate with internal departments, external business partners, and Accounting to ensure timely and accurate payment posting.
• Follow department guidelines to post batches, ensuring daily balances of AR reporting.
• Maintain and organize daily posting logs.
• Research and rectify posting errors, transferring funds correctly and documenting the process.
• Communicate with payors to acquire additional documentation when necessary.
• Collaborate with vendors to address issues related to missing files or posting file errors, including unbalanced files.
• Adhere to quality assurance standards and productivity expectations.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned, in line with role requirements. Requirements • Proficiency in Medical Payment Posting is essential
• Reconciliation of accounts should be a familiar task
• Knowledge of handling Insurance Payments is required
• Experience in Medical Billing is a key requirement
• Familiarity with Medical Billing - UB92 is advantageous
• Understanding and application of ICD-10 is necessary
• Proficiency in CPT Codes is expected
• Ability to maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in using relevant software and systems
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
