Conagra Sauce Cook - 2nd Shift in Council Bluffs, Iowa

Shift: This role is 2nd Shift, 4:45 PM-2:45 AM

Hourly Rate: $23.57 an hour

The Sauce Cook will perform a variety of responsibilities including but not limited preparing, mixing, and cooking sauces according to approved recipes and formulas promptly, filling out all required Government and Company documentation, inspection of work environment including equipment adjustments, completing all required audits and tests according to company procedure ensuring good housekeeping and 5S standards are met.

Starting pay up to $23.57 per hour + Attendance Bonus! ($0.50 for first shift and $0.60 for second shift)

You will be onsite at the facility located in Council Bluffs, Iowa. As a sauce cook, you will report to the operations team.

You Will:

  • Work the scheduled/assigned times and required overtime for position

  • Read, write, communicate, and comprehend written instructions in English

  • Work individually or with others as a team at all levels

  • Complete work requests for the correction of defects and improvements

  • Lift up to 50 pounds repetitively

  • Work in hot humid environment

  • Be PIT and LOTO Certified

Job Responsibilities

  • Complete and return all required documentation in English

  • Inspect work environment for defects before startup while ensuring notification upon discovery

  • Complete daily scale audit to ensure usage and prepare and adjust equipment for startup

  • Verify ingredients and safely transfer all ingredients to kitchen using PIT ensuring good housekeeping and 5S standards are met

  • Review requisition and batch sheets to ensure all items and quantities received are correct

  • Perform viscosity and temperature checks and record the results in English observing company standards

  • Ensure sauce sample is taken according to company procedure

  • Ensure all changeover activities are complete including returning ingredients, disposing of trash, and cleaning and sanitizing equipment

  • Attend daily/weekly DDS meetings

You Have:

  • Knowledge of GMP's and food allergens

  • Basic knowledge of computers including email

  • Intermediate math skill

  • Skill to identify Critical Control Points (CCP)

  • Skill to read a thermometer

  • Knowledge of the 5S concept

  • Proficiency to work with pork, chicken, beef and shellfish products in addition to many other ingredients and allergens

Qualifications:

Experience: 3 months production or related experience
