Role Summary
Here at Parker Meggitt, our Ansty Park site HR team are looking for a HR Specialist/People Advisor to join their newly formed team on a fixed-term contract basis. We’re looking for an individual that is able to provide our internal employee customer base with general first level HR advisory support. There will also be opportunities to support projects and the HR Business Partner’s with delivering their strategic people plans.
The ideal candidate will have previous HR experience, be confident with Employee Relations and managing a variety of absence, performance and conduct cases. You will also support the development and continuous evolvement of policies and processes supportive of the site HR team. This role will suit you if you have HR Advisory experience and have future ambitions to progress within a HR Generalist role.
Core Responsibilities
Providing excellent first line HR advice, coaching support and constructive feedback on a wide range of operational HR issues to customers, including but not limited to recruitment, on-boarding, organisation and employment changes, issues at work, development and exits/terminations
Creating relevant documentation and undertaking administration where required to support the HR admin team, including on-boarding, systems updates, documentation, e-filing, payroll, Kronos (Time and Attendance system), clearances and benefits
Providing first line case management support including family friendly requests, flexible working, absence management, occupational health, grievances, disciplinary and investigations
Supporting the review of policy, processes, process maps and associated documentation including the continuous improvement of these and other HR Function related documentation Providing support to cyclical HR programmes and one-off HR projects as required – talent management cycle, annual pay/bonus reviews, employment engagement initiatives and restructures
Responding to various requests and needs of the HR Business Partner’s, mostly reporting or data gathering

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Essential
Experience in first level disciplinary, grievance, and investigation meetings, inclusive of coaching managers on applicable process, policy and regulatory considerations
Relevant degree or CIPD Level 5 qualified, or looking to gain full CIPD qualifications
Proven experience of working with and maintaining high levels of confidentiality
A strong understanding of and sound ability to apply core people practices, processes, and approaches across the employee lifecycle
Ability to work as part of a team, with a “can do” attitude and are comfortable in undertaking a variety of tasks
Ability to demonstrate a high degree of initiative with the ability to effectively prioritise tasks, manage own time and work accurately with attention to detail
Approachable, professional and attentive; we want our employees to have a great experience when they need HR support
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication and presentation skills while exercising sensitivity to the audience
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. It is likely you will be asked to help us with data and reporting requests, so Excel skills would be desirable
