At Flooid we are looking for a Solutions Architect to join our team, and support us to deliver the next generation of POS software to our customers.

This role has great flexibility, and the opportunity to work on a global scale.

As a Solutions Architect you will be part of the team implementing our software product as a solution for retailers. You will be responsible for providing strong technical leadership and direction in the delivery of Flooid's projects.

As a Solutions Architect you will:

• Work directly with external customer teams (large and small) to:

• Explain Flooid architecture and technology

• Understand existing systems and ecosystems

• Understand third party integrations

• Understand functional and non-functional requirements

• Create customer-specific implementation documents and diagrams

• Design solutions for customer gaps

• Estimate work at a high level

• Pair with DevOps to build highly scalable applications

• Provide early life support (defect investigation, root cause analysis)

  You will collaborate effectively with team members and look for opportunities to innovate. You will be driven by finding creative solutions to problems and willing to go into new territory to deliver high quality to our customers.

The right candidate will have a strong background in software design/development/deployment, and understanding of modern architectures, and customer interactions.

You will be a confident technician with a broad range of experience.

Experience of project delivery working within the retail sector is desirable.

You should have:

• Well-established knowledge of Software, Technical, Data, Infrastructure and Integration Architectures/Patterns and the ability to ensure that the definition and delivery of solutions adhere to those best practices.

• A background in software development and experience of delivering enterprise-level, professional computing solutions.

• Experience of leading and working as an influencer in software delivery teams using agile development methodologies.

• Experience working directly with customers and collaborating within a multi-disciplined team throughout the entire project lifecycle.

• A well-established knowledge of programming languages and tools in general; mainly focussed on the Java platform.

You should also have experinece or understanding in some of the following:

• Data Structures

• Relation and NoSQL Databases

• JSON, XML, HTML

• Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Microservices

• Application Servers and Message Queues

• Container-based cloud deployments

• Basic network concepts

• Experience working in large application implementations

You may have experience of the following: software architecture, software engineering, software development.
