Robert Half Accounting Clerk in Covington, Kentucky

Description

The Accounting Clerk will support the accounting department by performing a variety of clerical and administrative tasks. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and assisting with both accounts receivable and payable activities. This role requires strong organizational skills, accuracy, and the ability to handle confidential information with integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.

  • Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.

  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements.

  • Enter and maintain accurate financial data in the accounting system.

  • Handle petty cash and prepare bank deposits.

  • Assist with payroll processing and ensure timely and accurate payroll transactions.

  • Prepare and process invoices, expense reports, and other financial documents.

  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.

  • Respond to inquiries from vendors, clients, and internal staff regarding financial transactions.

  • Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and documentation.

  • Assist with audits and other accounting projects as needed.

    Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a similar accounting role.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) is preferred.

  • Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
