WestRock Company Region Administrative Manager - Forest Resources in Covington, Virginia
The Opportunity:
We have an opportunity for a Region Administrative Manager to join our Covington Virginia fiber supply team to assist in managing administrative duties that support the overall region objectives to maintain the lowest cost, highest quality fiber sourcing in support of mills\u2019 forecasted needs while maintaining the highest compliance with safety and environmental requirements. This Administrative Manager role and assistants support the Region Manager and Foresters in all activities relating to the fiber procurement process. This position will lead all administrative tasks supporting Safety, Certification, Contract Management, P and L and wood cost budgets, Stumpage and Open Market programs, and the Wood Settlement and Scale Systems. The position will be relied on principally to lead and develop support team initiatives and provide strong customer service to our mill customers.
Job Objectives:
Lead, promote, enhance, and model WestRock\u2019s safety and environmentally-conscious culture. Leading the annual safety training process and maintaining training documentation.
Supervises administrative assistants and aligns duties.
Manages the Region\u2019s Certification programs including leading and supporting training, audit preparation, documentation, and audit follow-up. The role supports the Manager of Certification and Sustainability.
Supports contractor alignment for harvesting, BMP work, and road building by ensuring all insurance and contract requirements are met by both fiber and non-fiber contractors.
Manages the workflow of the Stumpage program process by ensuring approval processes are followed, documentation is in line with company procedures, instituting title searches, compiling contracts, W9s, reviewing legal documents, and managing load ticket reconciliation.
Leads administrative budgeting including compiling MTD and YTD cost reports, ensuring compliance with the corporate accounting (JDE) process, and creating Purchase Orders, monitoring chipping, woodyard, and trucking fees vs. contract requirements.
Leads and supports the Annual Budgeting process by creating and revising budget documents including wood budget models and associated support documents.
Supports the Performance Excellence process through assisting staff with project development and monthly savings tracking.
Summarize Fiber Quality reports.
Manage the wood settlement and scale system and Fiber Security Systems including monitoring, correcting Scalehouse issues, ticket corrections, reversal replacement, and coordinating Fiber Security Audits.
Serves as the liaison between Legal and the Regional Procurement team on minor contract issues.
What You Need:
Must have 3+ years of Business experience specifically related to working with accounting systems, fiber supply operations, and managing relationships with contractors and suppliers.
Bachelor\u2019s degree in Business, Forestry, or related field (or 5 years of equivalent experience in the defined fields above).
