The Assistant General Counsel - Intellectual Property (IP) role will serve as a key strategic partner for leadership teams within numerous business units by advising and providing legal support for both IP and commercial matters relating to those businesses and to the company as a whole on a domestic and international level. The Assistant General Counsel will work closely with business executives and other stakeholders and offer strategic guidance and expertise to support the growth and development of technologies and projects within the businesses globally.
In addition, the Assistant General Counsel will serve as a leader within the Legal & Compliance department by managing various department affairs and personnel and will be expected to oversee and assist with other special projects involving the executive leadership team as necessary.
Your Day to Day: Serve as a strategic partner (and key legal counsel) for the executive leadership team and other business stakeholders on both IP and commercial matters on a global level Develop, implement and advise on legal strategies to align with company strategic plans and to support the growth of the company on an international level Serve as a leader within the Legal & Compliance department by managing personnel, department affairs and special projects
Who You Are: Juris Doctor with strong academic credentials from an accredited law school Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience Active license to practice law in a US State Admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office Proficient with Microsoft office and related applications Excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills Strong legal research, analysis and writing abilities Strong knowledge of substantive areas of law Strong negotiation, problem solving and analytical skills Proactive, independent and able to collaborate with others Why Westinghouse?
