Robert Half Collections Specialist in Cranston, Rhode Island
Description We are in search of a dedicated Collections Specialist to join our team in the Metal Fabrication industry in Cranston, Rhode Island. This role provides a contract to hire employment opportunity, where you will be primarily responsible for managing customer credit accounts, ensuring timely payment of invoices, and maintaining detailed records. Your expertise in various accounting software systems, customer service, and collection processes will be essential in this role.
Responsibilities:
• Approve customer orders and establish credit limits.
• Follow up on past due invoices to ensure timely payment.
• Conduct credit reviews to evaluate customer creditworthiness.
• Make collections calls to customers to resolve payment issues.
• Generate aging reports to monitor account status.
• Utilize accounting software systems to process customer credit applications and maintain records.
• Leverage skills in Accurint, Great Plains (GPAC), IBM AS/400, Microsoft Excel to manage billing functions.
• Provide exceptional customer service to address and resolve credit inquiries.
• Adhere to established collection processes and policies.
• Collaborate with the team to manage and collect delinquent payments. Requirements • Proficient in Accounting Software Systems
• Familiar with Accurint software
• Knowledge of Great Plains (GPAC)
• Experience with IBM AS/400
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to perform Billing Functions
• Understanding of Collection Processes
• Prior experience as a Collector
• Knowledge of Credit systems and processes
• Strong Customer Service skills
• Experience in the Metal Fabrication industry preferred
• Collections Specialist experience required
