Position Purpose:
Responsible for receiving, unloading, processing, delivering drums, and the consolidating of related materials for processing of hazardous waste to include solids and liquid bulking, reclaim and/or crushing for disposal in accordance with regulatory requirements to insure that end product meets the appropriate specifications for disposal.
Primary Duties/responsibilities:
Unload drums off the trailers or out of the storage areas, retrieve packing slips to ensure location of drums for further processing.
Process material safely in accordance with site procedures and prep for processing or transhipment to alternate facility.
Perform basic waste tracking functions.
Depending on the type of materials in drums, verify solid or liquid and appropriate disposal option before rerouting for processing.
Responsible for the handling and sampling of materials.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education / Experience / Background:
High School diploma or GED required
Prior work experience of 1-2 in a related position preferred
Associates Degree in a Chemically related field preferred.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Communication Skills
Basic computer knowledge
Required Certification / Licenses / Training:
24 hrs HAZWOPER required.
40 hrs HAZWOPER preferred.
