Job Summary
GKN Aerospace needs a Manufacturing Engineering Apprentice to support state of the art programs, to facilitate new production programs, develop existing programs and provide a support to future programs.
Job Responsibilities
General
Exemplifying a safety-first mind-set and ensuring compliance with the GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards
Deliver technical support of manufacturing process development and integration for production
Employ Zero Defect Manufacturing tools to eliminate non-conformances.
Maintain positive, team relationships with internal and external customers, as well as co-workers
Continuously improve production processes by implementing Lean Initiatives
Support/lead root cause and corrective action investigations
Interface with interested parties as a member of the product IPT
Responsible for the development and continuous improvement of manufacturing process solutions to complex problems
Identifies and anticipates technical problems and offers solutions
Ability to perform statistical analysis and process capability
Self-starter and pro-active problem solver
Ability to develop working relationships with other departments
Sets example through own behavior and attitude. Able to contribute to effective project plans
Ability to explain concepts to a variety of audiences effectively
Job Qualifications
Formal Qualifications • Bachelor's in engineering or related fields (i.e. Mechanical, Materials, Chemical, Aerospace, etc.) • Experience with 3D CAD software. Preferably NX or CATIA • Strong Communication skills • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Security Clearance
Essential • U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirements.
Physical • Must be able to work in a production environment and travel throughout the facility and corporation to obtain information needed to perform job functions. • Ability to lift and/or move up to 30lbs, using proper lifting techniques.
