Head Coach - Women's Golf (Job Code 9791) 50% This position has the primary responsibility of directing and coaching the University of Minnesota Crookston's Women's Golf Program in the NCAA and Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC). The position reports to the Athletic Director. Duties: Coaching (25%) Selection, supervision, and coaching of the team toward athletic excellence and a positive quality experience. Recommendation, supervision and evaluation of the Women's Golf coaching staff. Development, communications and execution of plans for the season, including competitive schedules, practice schedules and training and conditioning programs. Planning, organizing, conducting of practice and effectively manage team dynamics Assisting in monitoring the academic performance and the physical development of student athletes. Working with academic counselors, athletic trainers, and the strength and conditioning coach to help student athletes achieve full potential in each area. Recruitment (10%) Organization and implementation of assessment, identification and recruitment of qualified student-athletes; demonstrate commitment to recruitment of students of color. Budget (10%) Preparation of budget recommendations and management of budget. Assistance in the preparation of travel arrangements, equipment orders, and awards for women's golf in conjunction with other department personnel. Administration (5%) Assistance with special events and tournaments, planning and conducting of clinics, seminars, and outreach to public service. * Establishment and maintenance of effective relationships within the athletics department, the University, community, booster club, alumni, high school coaches, media and the general public. * Commitment to and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations of the department, the University, the NSIC and the NCAA. * Demonstrated commitment and understanding of academic performance of prospective and current student-athletes Assistant Men's Hockey Coach The assistant coach position requires the successful candidate to work in-person on the Crookston Campus location. The assistant coach (AC) is expected to work closely with the head coach, Assistant coach and all other stakeholders within our program and the department. They are expected to promote and uphold the behaviors and values that drive our culture and demonstrate a significant capacity for work. They should be committed to student athlete (SA) development on the court, in the classroom and in life. They should be committed to the process of improvement and be a person of character and integrity. They should also demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. The following is a general description of AC duties and responsibilities: Coaching and teaching (25%) Participate in practice planning and technical instruction during practice Track our SA's and teams progress and performance Provide in-match coaching and tactical adjustments Assist with preparation of scouting reports and video analysis of opponents. Recruiting (15%) Assist with recruiting planning, logistics and evaluations Organize official and unofficial campus visits. Create recruiting content and materials and coordinate their distribution Help with incoming SA's with the admissions process and the transition to campus Know and adhere to all rules and regulations of the University of Minnesota, ACHA & WCCHA Administration (10%) Work with the business office and compliance to complete any necessary documentation and paperwork. Participate in departmental activities as required Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree Three (3) years of women's golf coaching/hockey teaching experience Demonstrated knowledge of strategies tactics and the teaching of high level golf & hockey skills Demonstrated experience recruiting and working with highly skilled golf & hockey players at the collegiate level Demonstrated ability to cultivate support in the broader local and regional golf community Preferred: Coaching Experience and progression within college golf & hockey (further preference given to current college coaching) Demonstrated recruiting success in a successful collegiate program Demonstrated knowledge of coaching and developing student-athletes Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of NCAA II rules & regulations Benefits Working at the University At the University of Minnesota, you'll find a flexible work environment and supportive colleagues who are interested in lifelong learning.
