General Summary:
If you are a TECHNICIAN looking for an opportunity to grow, Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you! In this field-based position, you are joining the team as we provide excellence in the commission of new installations, start-up training, troubleshooting, and maintenance of products manufactured by Vilter. In this customer-facing role, extensive domestic and international travel is required. You will establish, promote, and maintain excellent rapport and communications with all customers, co-workers, sales representatives, and others as appropriate. In addition to this, you will provide support for Vilter sponsored, in-house, training classes.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Sustain proficiency in all products and services that the company offers. This includes staying current with installation standard methodologies, equipment protocol, and safety guidelines. Maintain proficiency in all designated third-party products and services. Provide on-site pre-start up, start-up, contracted service work, warranty, troubleshooting, and training of Vilter products. Ensure equipment is operational and free of defects. Complete paperwork such as timesheets, expense reports, and Field Service Reports in a timely manner. Provide technical support to customers (internal and external) via telephone and e-mail. Review product prints and specifications. Work with contractors to review and ensure unit/package is installed to specifications. Provide daily updates to collaborators on work performed at jobs sites. Recommend and direct activities at a customer site by leading technical activities of other specialists.
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:
Required:
Minimum of five (5+) years’ experience with Industrial Refrigeration, Industrial Chillers, HVAC, or Gas Compression
Field Service or Repair Facility Experience
Solid understanding of electronic controllers and electro-mechanical troubleshooting
Motivated, self-starter comfortable training customers, presenting in front of groups, and a willingness to learn
Microsoft Office proficiency as applicable for preparing service reports, scheduling appointments, expense reports, etc.
Ability to travel between 85% and 90%
Legal authorization to work within the United States – Sponsorship will not be provided for this role
Preferred:
Associate’s (AA) degree in a technical field, or related military experience
EPA Universal Certification
Highly preferred Bi-lingual (Spanish)
RETA Certification (CIRO or CARO) preferred
