UPMC Western Maryland is looking for a Crisis Clinician, Supervisor to support our team at the Center for Hope and Healing!

This is a full-time position that will primarily work Monday - Friday dayshift.

The Crisis Clinician, Supervisor is responsible for oversight and supervision at the Center for Hope and Healing.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in interdisciplinary activities such as staff meetings.
  • Manage crisis situations effectively using positive approaches.
  • In collaboration with Crisis Program Coordinator completes staff performance evaluation, staff development, and carries out appropriate corrective action.
  • Work efficiently and independently in crisis setting.
  • Develop orientation for all new crisis clinicians and assigns mentor.
  • Complete consumer/family crisis assessments (face to face and telephone).
  • Meet standards for documentation and completes all required paperwork.
  • Provide crisis services in a community and/or office setting.
  • Support consumer and suggest/recommend appropriate referral services.
  • Work with motivational interviewing and able to utilize specific techniques.
  • Assess consumer needs and assist consumer in developing a crisis plan.
  • Provide supportive counseling to promote consumer stability.
  • Serve as shift supervisor and oversees daily functions in the office in coordination with Crisis Program Coordinator.
  • Provide follow-up services to consumers by phone and/or mobile visits.
  • Provide insight and knowledge of insurance programs, processes and able to obtain authorizations as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work and three years of mental health experience required.

  • Work history that includes phone triage, as well as in-depth knowledge and proven skill at doing psychiatric assessments.

  • Experience in mental health crisis intervention, case management, or in-home therapy preferred.

  • Excellent, recovery-oriented interpersonal relations.

  • Ability to work shifts, weekends, holidays, and to assume on-call responsibilities.

  • May in the course of their duties be in rooms where medications are stored or may transport medications when they transport patients. Transportation of medication is limited from one department to another.

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Drivers License

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) OR Licensed Master Social Work (LMSW) OR Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
