The Business Operations Analyst role within Wireless Technologies and Ecosystems (WTE) is focused on supporting our engineering team. In this role you will work with WTE senior leadership and extended leadership to ensure our engineers have exactly what they need to build the best wireless software solutions on the planet , while maximizing the return on investment to Apple. You will enable engineering utilizing cross-functional interaction with the Finance teams, Authorized Requestors, Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, Fixed Assets, Legal, and business counterparts in other parts of Apple!

Description

You will provide business unit purchasing support which includes advising on Apple purchasing, spending and reporting policies. You will be reviewing purchase requests and contracts to ensure they adhere to policies as well as overseeing vendor relationships and contracts. You will be handling engineering purchasing requests from start to finish which will include working with engineering to avoid pre-commitments. You will be savvy in utilizing Apple practices and procedures, methods and instructions in order to handle a variety of purchasing transactions in Apple’s purchasing system. You will ensure completeness and accuracy entering internal inventory data or purchase related data into relevant applications. You will also support the business unit spending lifecycle. Create yearly OPEX, CAPEX, AOU, and headcount budgets: create, gain approval, track, analyze yearly budgets to optimize engineering ability to deliver on commitments and provide accurate data to finance team. Maintain effective relationships with Apple finance, AR team, purchasing teams, business unit leadership, and cross functional teams. You will track the reports to ensure timely approvals as well as monitor Open PRs, Logged PRs, and GR data, and PO accruals to provide business unit monthly/quarterly forecast. You will also report data to the engineering team to help drive business decisions. You will oversee the quarterly closure for capital and operational expenditures and input business unit data into Balance. An ability to present and communicate effectively to executives will be required. This person will drive communication to leadership and provide OPEX/CAPEX budget reports and summarized spending and budget usage. Will drive productive, critical discussions with senior leaders while being extraordinarily detail oriented and keeping sight of the “big picture”. You will be able to drive automation and improvement in forecast data quality and adoption of reporting tools & dashboards and prepare analytics using multiple tools (Numbers, Excel, Tableau, etc.). Your attention to detail will shine as you continuously review spending data for compliance with policies, completeness, and accuracy.

Minimum Qualifications

Key Qualifications

  • Hands-on business operations experience performing budgeting, forecasting, reporting and analysis

  • Demonstrated analytical, logic and budgeting/spending modeling skills

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to see the big picture while working with ambiguity and uncertainty

  • Proven ability to gather and analyze large amounts of data at a macro and micro level

  • Enthusiastic willingness to learn new technologies and engineering concepts

  • Fierce attention to detail with laser beam accuracy

  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills to various levels of the organization

  • 3-4 years experience in business operations and purchasing experience

  • Expert Excel and/or Numbers (macros preferred but not required)

  • Experience with Tableau

Preferred Qualifications

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in business operations or finance. MBA a plus but not required.

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $105,200 and $197,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
