Naval Education and Training Command SUPERVISORY INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) in Dahlgren, Virginia

Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INFORAMTION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) of SURFCOMSYSTRNCMD DAHLGREN. Responsibilities You will Develop information security plans to maintain computers in a maximized security posture. You will perform life cycle maintenance planning and analysis of information technology (IT) systems for optimal performance. You will implement information technology (IT) processes to improve IT services. You will create a project implementation strategy to integrate new information technology applications within an enterprise. You will perform a risk analysis of information technology (IT) systems to identify problems and recommend solutions. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing the required steps and managing the Risk Management Framework process for networked and non-networked information systems; 2) Creating, developing, implementing, informing, reviewing, interpreting and assessing applicable cyber security instructions, policy, and guidance; 3) Providing technical guidance to project managers and project team members working on information technology projects; 4) Developing and managing a Cyber Security Workforce (CSWF) program ensuring the organization has a certified, qualified and capable workforce; and 5) Utilizing cybersecurity tools used to obtain accreditation (eMASS) and perform vulnerability analysis (VRAM) of networks and information technology systems. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Reviewing policy standards and implementation strategies to ensure procedures and guidelines comply with cybersecurity policies. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Providing expert technical advice, guidance and recommendations to Command-wide management and Information Technology specialists on critical IT issues and complex IT development applications, especially Cybersecurity. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Presenting briefings to senior management officials on complex IT issues. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Performing feasibility studies, cost benefit analysis, and developing proposals that represent a best course of action along with suitable alternatives to address complex cyber security and IT issues, problems, and projects.
