Job Description
Under the guidance of the Medical Director and/or Center Licensed Physician(s), the Physician Substitute is responsible for determining the acceptability of first-time and return applicant donors. This role entails following Standard Operating Procedures to ensure donors meet suitability criteria in accordance with FDA guidance and regulations. The Physician Substitute reviews normal donor laboratory tests and refers abnormal tests to the Physician for further review. This position provides medical oversight in screening, phlebotomy, and plasma processing areas, and performs various physicals and consent procedures. The role also includes managing medical incidents, providing donor counseling, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with all operational standards.
