Job Summary and Qualifications

The Chief Development Officer leads the strategic growth of the facility, ensuring that there is a shared focus on key market and service line development opportunities. The CDO Develops and implements growth strategies and initiatives, including managed care programs, service line development, collaborative arrangements with other healthcare systems, physician groups and payers, joint ventures and new businesses to improve and expand healthcare services provided by the facility.

What you will do in this role:

  • Formulates and facilitates the strategic planning process and oversee its execution.

  • Establishes strategic goals for the organization working in partnership with the executive team.

  • Evaluates strategic initiatives and provides feedback to the executive team as to their alignment with the overall strategy.

  • Identifies new business opportunities that are consistent with the mission, vision, values and strategic goals of the organization.

  • Maintains awareness of the current and potential competitive forces in the marketplace and ensures that the entity has an active and continuous marketing plan that meets the overall strategic objectives.

*What qualifications you will need: *

  • MBA, MHA or related Master’s Degree is required.

  • Requires a minimum of ten (10) years of progressive healthcare facility leadership experience, five (5) of which must have been in an acute care facility required.

  • Experience with coordinating and integrating strategic planning and business development.

  • Leadership experience in marketing, public relations and physician relations/physician development required.

  • Proven success in: Service Line Portfolio Performance Metrics, Market share stabilization/growth, Net revenue & volume growth, and Physician Retention and Loyalty rates.

  • Service Line management preferred

  • Membership and active participation in appropriate healthcare professional associations and community organizations.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

  • A demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.

  • Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a functional and strategic level.

  • Marketing and service programs development and deployment.
