Baylor Scott & White Health Director of Development in Dallas, Texas

  • JOB SUMMARYThe Baylor Scott & White Dallas Foundation is seeking a Development Director to join our team of fundraising professionals. This role is essential in raising philanthropic support for Texas’s largest not-for-profit healthcare system, Baylor Scott & White Health, with a particular focus on the oncology service line. The Director will engage, cultivate, solicit, and steward current and prospective donors in an assigned portfolio, qualifying donor capacity, building rapport, and identifying philanthropic interests to develop personalized donor strategies. They will implement fundraising strategies to secure major and planned gifts throughout the fiscal year, ensuring donors are aware of the impact of their philanthropy through regular updates and engagement activities. In this role, the Director will also collaborate closely with oncology physicians, researchers, and leadership to identify and prioritize funding opportunities. They will communicate compelling cases for support and organize donor cultivation and stewardship events, including meetings and tours. Additionally, the Director will serve as a liaison for relevant service line board members, aiding in both cultivation and solicitation efforts. This position requires a proactive and strategic approach to donor engagement, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE• Develop ongoing relationships with current donors and new prospects to secure gifts and meet or exceed an annual fundraising goal.• Leads and applies fundraising techniques and donor strategies, including qualifying capacity, building rapport, and identifying philanthropic interests to close on BSWH foundation gifting goals.• Serve as active thought partner in developing comprehensive fundraising strategies aligned with service line priorities and organizational goals.• Serve as liaison to assigned Foundation Board members and assigned select hospital boards.• Leverage and enhance donor and prospect experience, utilize database management and manage total portfolio to achieve financial and non-financial goals. • Grateful patient discovery.• Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner. KEY SUCCESS FACTORS• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required, coupled with a high-level of emotional intelligence.• Organizational, time-management and problem-solving skills needed.• Excellent attention to detail, growth mindset and a high-level of curiosity.• Ability to lead and direct key stakeholders, inside and outside of the Foundation.• Knowledge of proposal writing.• Prior experience in health care or general non-profits preferred.• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 5 plus years of experience in major gift fundraising.• General knowledge of sales, public relations, management, and fundraising. • Understanding and ability to work with data, projects, facilitate meetings, volunteer management, word-processing and spreadsheets. Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office computer systems including Microsoft 365 and the ability to learn client data management platform BENEFITS Our competitive benefits package includes the following

  • EDUCATION - Bachelor's or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
