Integrative Emergency Services EHR Optimization Specialist (Athena/eCW) in Dallas, Texas

The Athena and eClinicalWorks EHR Optimization Specialist will lead the implementation and effective utilization of the Athena and eClinicalWorks EHR systems across various outpatient services. This role includes customizing the EHR to meet the unique needs of each practice, conducting comprehensive training and onboarding for staff, and ensuring efficient and compliant use of the systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Others may be assigned.

  • Athena EHR Management: Customize Athena and eClinicalWorks EHR settings, including templates and workflows, to optimize user experience and efficiency in each outpatient setting.

  • Training and Development: Conduct engaging and informative training sessions for different user groups, ensuring a thorough understanding of the EHR functionalities.

  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor and evaluate the performance of Athena EHR, implementing changes to enhance functionality and user satisfaction.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, including IT, clinical, and administrative teams, to ensure a cohesive approach to each EHR implementation.

  • Problem-Solving: Act as the primary contact for troubleshooting and resolving EHR issues, providing timely and effective solutions.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all Athena and eClinicalWorks EHR practices comply with relevant healthcare regulations and standards.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills. Versatile interpersonal and communication style with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels within and outside the organization

  • Proficiency in EHRs, strong understanding of healthcare workflows, excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

  • Results and detail orientation.  Ability to drive assigned tasks to closure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong ability to handle simultaneous priorities.

  • Ability to use discretion appropriately and maintain confidentiality

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently

    Education / Experience:  Include minimum education, technical training, and/or experience preferred to perform the job.

    Required:

  • At least 2 years medical office administration or related experience

  • Strong EHR/EMR experience with templating and admin level EHR work

    Preferred:

  • Athena and eClinicalWorks EHR/EMR experience

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel, and reach with hands and arms,

  • Possess the ability to fulfill any office activities normally expected in an office setting, to include, but not limited to:  remaining seated for periods of time to perform computer-based work, participating in filing activity, lifting and carrying office supplies (paper reams, mail, etc.)

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20-25 pounds 

  • Fine hand manipulation (keyboarding)

  • Some travel to clinic locations, including overnight and local, may be required depending on business needs (initial assessments, go-lives, periodic training, etc)
