Fabrication and Welding Technician
Dallas, TX
$30-$35/Hour
7am-3:30pm, Mon-Fri (Occasional 5am start or Saturday Shifts Available)
Description:
Select, cut, trim, cope, drill and shape stock materials such as flat bar, channel angle, pipes, sheets and plates.
Fit-up and tack weld multiple components into an assembly, complete weld-outs after fit-up inspection and grind and blend seams to the required finish.
Select the appropriate weld procedure and weld machine parameters including shielding gas, voltage, welding wire and feed rate.
Perform cuts on sheets and plates using saws, cut-off tools, hand held plasma cutter or CNC plasma cutter.
Assemble multiple weldments and purchased machine components to yield fully functional machinery.
Use rulers, calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, gauges and other instruments for precise measurements.
Handle heavy, large or awkward parts manually or with hoists and cranes.
Perform machine set-up, operation and maintenance.
Read and interpret technical drawings, data sheets and specifications.
Keep work area clean and in safe order and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3-Years experience in fabrication and welding.
Associate’s Degree in welding technology or comparable degree preferred.
Must have experience with GMAW, SMAW and GTAW welding processes and be competent at using an oxy-acetylene torch and plasma cutter.
AutoCAD software experience is preferred.
Experience using Google G-Suite experience preferred.
