APTIM Mechanical Revit Designer in Dallas, Texas
APTIM is seeking mid-level designers to join our team of engineering professionals serving our Government and Commercial programs.

Designers will apply critical thinking skills to initial planning, procurement support, plan development, design, construction and commissioning phases of projects. APTIM expects our designers to be creative problem solvers and actively look for the best way to support our varied Government and commercial clients. Designers will often work on multiple projects simultaneously and perform other duties as required. Understanding of basic corporate mechanisms such as scopes of work, construction safety protocols, and experience in a professional work environment. This position immediately offers opportunities to grow professionally while solving problems working with the engineers and construction team.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop Plant, Facility, Equipment, Piping and Site Layout General Arrangement drawings showing elevations, sections, and detail views.
Develop detailed fabrication drawings of equipment, piping, and HVAC.
Able to provide examples of previous work products.
Coordinate with and consult Engineers and other discipline Engineers/Designers to design, lay out, or detail components and systems and to resolve technical and other issues.
Conform to applicable engineering codes and standards as well as to company policies and procedures.
Able to develop detailed design drawings for plant layout, general arrangements, ASME piping, HVAC, plumbing, general supports, instrumentation, and equipment.
Other duties include collecting and compiling field data as required, assisting with preparation of material estimates, and providing other duties as assigned.
Organizes own work to meet deadlines set by others.
Communicates information, asks questions, and checks for understanding.
Contributes to a team environment.
Basic Qualifications:
Has basic knowledge of theories, practices and procedures in mechanical engineering technology.
Requires Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology (or related degree or equivalent experience)
5 -- 10 years related experience
Minimum of 5-years REVIT or AutoCAD or SolidWorks experience and able to setup and manage a project in the associated software.
Experience in Point Clouds.
Good verbal and writing skills.
Factory, field, and/or construction experience a plus.
Practical mechanical skills a plus.
Candidates must be willing to travel for infrequent field assignments.
