Safety Officer

Position Highlights

  • Work location: Texas Health Physicians Group 9229 LBJ Freeway Dallas, TX 75243 - Some travel is required. It will also involve remote work with periodic in-person staff meetings as required

  • Work hours: Full-Time, 40 hours Monday - Friday; 8AM-5PM

  • Salary range: $25.35 - $ 42.11 per hour (based on relevant experience)

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree Nursing preferred or Bachelor's Degree Nursing.

  • 2 Years Relevant experience related to patient safety; risk management required

  • RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required or LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse Upon Hire Required

  • Understanding of OSHA and employee/patient safety in the workplace.

  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal & presentation).

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Specific responsibility for planning, implementation, and management of Environment of Care (EOC): OSHA, Life Safety, Emergency Preparedness and Management programs within Federal/State, and THR guidelines.

  • Responsibility for education, training, and coaching of facility staff and leadership relevant to, but not limited to EOC issues, OSHA, Life Safety, Emergency Management, Joint Commission, EPA, NFPA, DEA, TDH-DSHS, etc.

  • Prepares and analyzes safety reports from surveillance of the medical office practices.

  • Conducts interviews with clinic staff and management related to EOC, OSHA, Emergency Management, and Hazardous Materials. Maintains reporting documents and forwards pertinent information to appropriate key stakeholders.

  • Escalates any urgent findings to Director Risk Management. Always supportive in the training and delivery of regulatory requirements.

  • Attendance and involvement in appropriate committee meetings, organization meetings and co-ordination of plans to promote compliance with specified regulatory requirements.
