Please review the following job description:

Professional level role with knowledge and experience as a Scrum Master. Typically Scrum Masters at this level work with two or more mature teams at a time, under broad supervision and little instruction. Delivery focused team leader. Enables Agile teams to realize value by facilitating Agile ceremonies, following Truist Best Practices, removing impediments, coaching on Agile processes and ensuring team rules are being observed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  1. Coaches scrum team(s) to deliver capabilities by adopting agile practices while also following the Software Development Lifecycle, business process mapping, and various release processes as appropriate to ensure all risk, security, and development requirements are met.

  2. Uses empirical data to help the team(s) assess their Scrum maturity, optimize scrum team velocity to organizational KPIs, and identify improvement opportunities to achieve higher levels of team performance.

  3. Partners with Product Owner(s) to ensure continuous refinement of backlog, which may include stories from multiple projects.

  4. Facilitates and is accountable for owning the Scrum and/or Scaled Agile ceremonies for the scrum team(s).

  5. Identifies skills & competencies of scrum team members; makes adjustments accordingly to promote development and highly effective teams.

  6. Knowledge and understanding of technology software: release management

  7. Responsible for ensuring Truist SDLC is appropriately followed.

  8. Detail-oriented with respect to documentation and communication; able to express complex concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing to business partners.

  9. Strong relationship-building skills; comfortable interacting with stakeholders at all levels throughout the business.

  10. Ability to negotiate, influence and collaborate to build successful relationships with all levels of team members

  11. Emotionally Intelligent, engaged, responsible, organized, self-disciplined, self-motivated, and able to work with little or no supervision.

  12. Experienced with writing effective user stories and acceptance criteria

  13. Good presentation, influencing and, relationship management skills

  14. Able to identify and clearly communicate the impact of project risks to timeline and scope to key business stakeholders

  15. Experience using the team collaboration software Confluence

  16. Experience with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) or exposure to any other scaling principles and Release Engineer is a plus!

  17. Agile Scrum (CSM), SAFE certifications or other advanced Agile certifications

  18. Knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor degree and 5+ years’ professional experience, for example: at least two+ years in a delivery role (developer, tester, architect, BA, business owner, etc.)

  2. Prior experience in a Scrum Master role

  3. Two+ years of experience working on or with Agile teams

  4. Communicate effectively with team members, management and product owners/managers

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. College Degree in Computer Science, Math or related field of study

  2. SAFe Scrum Master Certification or Certified Scrum Manager or other industry recognized Scrum Master certification
