In the role of Senior Accountant, you will handle the preparation and consolidation of financial statements, the analysis and reconciliations of accounts, and the analysis of cash flow. You will also establish budgets and forecasts, prepare audits, and manage internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Candidate must possess top-notch analytical skills. This Senior Accountant role is based in Dallas, Texas with a company in the Manufacturing field.
Major responsibilities
Assist in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Ensure corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls are followed when working with business partners and be able to provide support on special requests
Review financial information such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc. and present analysis in a clear manner
Produce monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management purposes
Delegate resources to Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Engage in various department-wide initiatives
Prepare Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Complete monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables that includes journal entries, reconciliations, and reports in the compensation area in compliance with GAAP
Strong interest in continuously improving the automation of the accounting and reporting process Requirements - Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
7+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience, and at the Senior Accountant level
Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)
Prior work done in public accounting is desired
Understanding of corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
Top notch analytical, quantitative and social skills
Knowledgeable of ERP systems
Solid understanding of month end closings
Detailed and have the ability work independently
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
Strong time management skills preferred
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
Deep understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance
