The Sr. Associate, Risk Management & Business Intelligence (Sr. Associate, Operational Risk) serves as a subject matter expert (SME) and authority in both risk management and BI analytics. This role is critical for ensuring adherence to company policies and risk management strategies while also providing advanced BI reporting and analytics capabilities to support decision-making processes.

  • Apply innovative quantitative and qualitative analytical techniques to detect problems, improve reporting/MIS capabilities, and enhance BI analytics.

  • Deliver industry best practices, tools, guidance, and training to increase analytical capabilities and throughput, focusing on PowerBI.

  • Demonstrate strong subject matter expertise in risk management and BI, serving as an authority and credible challenge to management regarding credit performance, potential or emerging risks, and business conformity with risk appetite, credit culture, and policies.

  • Partner with Business Lines to recommend and vet new products initiatives, origination strategies, pre-approval and pre-qualification campaigns, underwriting techniques, peer group comparisons, and process optimization.

  • Lead BI projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to project goals, and effective stakeholder communication.

Qualifications:

  • Education:Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Work Experience: 9-12 years in Risk Management or Business Intelligence roles.

  • Strong operational risk management principles, methodologies, and tools, with experience in a financial services technology environment.

  • Expertise in PowerBI, with a proven track record of building complex dashboards and reports that drive business insights.

  • Expertise in PowerApps, with the ability to develop custom applications that enhance business processes and improve data accessibility

  • Project management skills, with experience leading BI projects and initiatives.

  • Proficiency in SQL and Python for data analysis and process automation is highly desirable.

  • Familiarity with Tableau, Snowflake, and Jira is a plus.

  • Ability to operate independently in a complex, matrixed environment and build productive working relationships across business functions.

  • Advanced operational risk, process, and control validation and/or assessment skills.

  • Ability to direct, train, and guide peers, subordinates, and management in both risk management and BI best practices.

  • Strong conflict resolution skills, particularly in ensuring appropriate accounting guidance and data governance.

  • Ability to adapt to new developments and changing circumstances.

The base pay range for this position is posted below and represents the annualized salary range. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.

Salary: $112,500 - $160,000/year
