Amazon Sr. Technical Program Manager, Organizational Planning and Effectiveness (OPE) in Dallas, Texas

Description

This position is located in Dallas, TX but can also be located in Seattle, WA or Arlington, VA

As part of the Amazon-wide Global Talent Management and Compensation team, the Organizational Planning and Effectiveness team’s mission is to enable Amazon to build healthy and effective organizations with the right leaders, in the right roles, at the right time. We develop philosophies, mechanisms and products that guide leaders to inspect and make data-driven decisions to improve their organizational operating models, structures, and executive talent.

In this role, you will be the driving force behind bridging the gap between technical and business teams. You’ll be responsible for managing project schedules, coordinating production launches, and ensuring clear communication of goals, roles, and responsibilities. Your ability to navigate and solve complex technical challenges while balancing business priorities will be key to delivering impactful solutions.

The ideal candidate is passionate about the customer experience, takes pride in building high quality software, and has a demonstrable track record of successfully delivering new features and products. They value collaboration, making data-driven decisions, and can comfortably communicate with others, in both technical and non-technical roles.

Key job responsibilities

-Advocate for the business: own and represent the businesses needs in technical discussions

-Translate from geek: translate technical constraints and considerations for the business

-Plan: define and sequence projects based on value, cost, risk and dependencies

-Execute: remove roadblocks for your team and hustle to consistently deliver business value in a fast-paced Agile environment

-Manage Risk: see round corners, identify and act on risks and create clear water for the team

-Communicate: provide frequent meaningful updates to stakeholders and management

-Keep up with the team: dive deep on to understand new and legacy systems and learn new technologies quickly in order to act as a sounding board for the team

-Improve the process: constantly drive to make the process more effective and transparent

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps
