This is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity in the Dallas, Texas area, at a company where effort is rewarded. To succeed in this role, you will need to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. This role is a great opportunity for someone who wants to participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. Do you have a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets? You'll be preferred for this role.
How you will make an impact
Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls. Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives
Conduct month end close and compose journal entries with minimal supervision
Handle intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation
Coordinate and analyze a variety of financial data, then report it in a way that is useful and understandable
Assist with the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting
Impromptu reporting and special projects, when requested
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll Requirements
Current and relevant ERP system experience
Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines
Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Solid understanding of Full Cycle Accounting
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting or Finance
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
