Robert Half Staff Accountant in Dallas, Texas
Description Robert Half currently has a permanent opportunity for an experienced Staff Accountant to join their growing team. The Staff Accountant will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. You will assist in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and look over schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very complex as it plays a part in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Located in the Dallas, Texas area, this position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work.
What you get to do every day
Arrange schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation
In-depth experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management
Manage depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Partake in various department-wide initiatives
Assist with the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable
Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request
Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries
Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision
Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP Requirements - Skillful in analytical, quantitative and social skills
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
Experience with ERP systems
Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Adeptness in bank reconciliations
Microsoft Excel experience preferred
Month end closings experience desired
Financial Statement experience preferred
Deep understanding of financial reporting
Experience with journal entries
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
