Job Summary
Provides leadership to the Heart Rhythm Device Clinic (HRDC) staff across the system. Provides direction to ensure effectiveness of roles and assignments. Responsible for a variety of HRDC duties including assisting in training staff as needed and filling in for gaps. Follows system-wide standards as set by Electrophysiology clinical leaders. Fosters a professional and positive work environment through mutual support and cooperation.
Job Duties
Provides clinical leadership support to device clinic staff across the Heart and Vascular Institute.
Demonstrates physical presence at each device clinic campus to engage staff and oversee clinical operations.
Facilitates the monitoring of MURJ Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and prioritizes the efficiency and effectiveness of in office visits and remote monitoring.
Collaborates with MURJ representatives to ensure patient care workflows and data analytics are appropriately monitored and pivoting resources where necessary to maintain appropriate staffing levels.
Works closely with Electrophysiology (EP) provider team and other multidisciplinary teams ensuring quality care and patient safety.
Collaborates with device vendors and MURJ to ensure maximum efficiency of device data.
Communicates and problem solves with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex patient care issues and workflows.
Maintains and implements standardized onboarding program and ensures competencies of the Heart Rhythm Device Clinic (HRDC) team.
Standardizes and develops education to ensure appropriate resources are available to support patient care and procedures in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.
Participates in human resource matters including interviewing, performance evaluations, performance improvement, and behavioral concerns. Assesses staff and facilitates skill development for all personnel as needed. Actively participates in resolving employee problems and conflicts as needed.
Proactively review patient schedules to ensure efficiency in clinical workflows and identify and resolve potential conflicts.
Evaluates, manages and provides support in the delivery of quality clinical care of patients with implanted cardiac pacemakers, defibrillator, and loop recorder devices. Demonstrates knowledge and function of devices and utilizes critical thinking skills.
Independently performs device interrogations and device/patient monitoring in the outpatient and inpatient setting.
Problem solves device function, settings, arrhythmia episodes, and interventions.
Analyze clinical data and compose written CIED management summaries, clinic visit notes, and letters.
Able to communicate critical findings to Device RN and/or the Electrophysiology physician directly for urgent needs.
Assists with cardiac rhythm monitoring and data collection and provides ongoing device education to patients and families for all Pacemaker, ICD and Loop Recorder patients for both in office and remote monitoring device follow up.
Serve as a resource to clinical staff, the cardiovascular and electrophysiology laboratories, and inpatient and outpatient units.
Participate in planning for seminars, conferences, symposiums, or any educational event related to cardiovascular programs.
Facilitates monthly specialty education to advance the care of the cardiovascular patient based on evidence-based practice.

Position Details
Hours: Monday through Friday; 8 hour shifts; Days
Travel: More than 50%- o versight of 5 sites: GMC, GWV, GCMC, GLH, and Grays Woods
Experience: 5 years RN work experience is required
Certification: International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) Certification is required within 2 years
