American Time & Signal Co. Machine Operator in Dassel, Minnesota

Machine Operators are responsible for setting up and operating equipment to manufacture component parts according to approved procedures. They will use both industrial equipment and hand tools to produce parts, verify the quality, and manage inventory of raw materials and completed parts. All Fabrication employees are expected to have a basic understanding of and ability to safely operate basic fabrication equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Safely operate fabrication tools and equipment to ensure production of quality products. Setup and safely operate fabrication equipment such as tapping equipment, drill press, shear, paint booth, panel saw, table saw, wire cutter, air stakers, studding machine, wire pinner, and various grinding equipment. Safely operate 6 of 9 pieces of equipment if it has been setup. Equipment includes CNC mill, CNC lathe, punch press, manual lathe, turret, press brake, bezel welder/roller, welders, dial printer. Utilize handheld tools such as a screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, cordless drills and other miscellaneous tools. Obtain forklift certification (prefer but not required). Perform quality inspections of manufactured parts products. Perform work assignments by following pre-established procedures to meet on-time requirements and maintain accurate inventory. Complete each job traveler by utilizing written procedures and BOMs (Bill of Materials). Audit written procedures and BOMs and notify group leaders of discrepancies. Meet or exceed standard lead times listed on the job traveler. Maintain inventory of product in workstations through the Kanban system. Fulfill production inventory needs by completing jobs according to predetermined scheduled. Create a cooperative and respectful work environment to achieve company goals. Ability and willingness to be part of a team which includes working together towards a common goal, creating a positive work atmosphere, and supporting each other to enhance team performance. Ability to communicate effectively, both giving and receiving. Maintain a courteous and professional manner when dealing with others. Bring concerns & suggestions for improvement to lead. Attend and participate in team meetings. Ensure the workplace is operating in a safe and efficient mindset. Audit the line using the 5S process ensuring tools, equipment, and parts are organized and properly cared for and area is cleaned daily. Adhere to all company policies and procedures making recommendations when there is opportunity for improvement. Attend monthly safety trainings.
