The Residential Packaged Equipment Product Manager is responsible for the strategy/roadmap to support residential packaged equipment offerings throughout the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the vision, and working closely with key stakeholders to deliver growth. This includes the sale of equipment through company-owned and private distribution as well as Supply Stores and strategic channels. This role works collaboratively with sales, marketing, sourcing, customer support, engineering and category management to ensure revenue, profitability, and customer satisfaction goals are met.
The preferred location for this role is our North American Headquarters in Davidson, North Carolina or Tyler, Texas, though other company locations will be considered.
Responsibilities:
Lead Product Growth Team (PGT) through the product strategy process to define growth plans using standard work for strategy, in-line management, TLME, and GDLO in collaboration with Integrated Supply Chain and Engineering as well as Marketing, Sales, Project Management and Product Management.
Own packaged equipment P&L; analyze profitability and sales of offerings
Explore creative solutions and critically evaluate with an enterprise mindset to prioritize and progress impactful actions
Actively review product and technology landscapes to identify innovative product solutions, create product differentiation, and reduce product costs.
Define, size and identify targeted market segments for growth opportunities; analyze the competitive and regulatory landscapes; actively identify portfolio gaps and opportunities
Work collaboratively to provide accurate operational forecasts that integrate market growth, regional incentives and trends, strategic customer’s needs, and product phase in/phase out. Identify mid- and long-term operational capacity needs and work with Integrated Supply Chain to develop associated investment strategies.
Deliver customer solutions through the development of clear and actionable product requirements. Build business cases and develop/execute commercialization plans for new products/product re-launch & channel/market programs. Ensure growth through post launch tracking and countermeasures.
Review equipment performance ratings for completeness and analyze for gaps to relevant market regulations and incentives.
Review product sales metrics and work with sales and marketing on developing appropriate product selling plans and programs.
Partner with Integrated Supply Chain to drive supplier collaboration for quality, delivery, and performance
Provide packaged equipment sales training & support
Ensure customers’ needs are being met through the entire value stream
Qualifications:
BS or BA in Business, Engineering or other.
2-7 years of product marketing, product support, or product management experience required
Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to continuously evaluate/re-evaluate requests to identify and execute portfolio priorities
Strong organizational and program management skills to manage multiple projects at one time
Sound problem resolution, teambuilding, judgment and decision-making skills
Ability to define and launch excellent products
Demonstrated business and financial acumen
Ability to travel up to 25%
The ideal candidate will have familiarity with Trane Technologies Business Operating System or similar (new product launch, product portfolio strategy management, pricing excellence, and inline management)

Compensation:
Annual Base Compensation: $100,000 – 165,000
Additional Compensation: Total compensation for this role also will include an incentive plan.
