ACCOUNTS PAYABLE CLERK -- PROPERTY MANAGEMENT

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Accounts Payable Clerk compiles and maintains accounts payable records.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Reviews all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
- Enters approved invoices into Yardi software, ensuring correct charge of unit and account.
- Corporate office clerks will print and obtain signatures on all accounts payable checks.
- Distributes signed checks as required.
- Contacts vendors if there are questions concerning invoices or statements.
- Answers all vendor inquiries.
- Maintains all accounts payable reports, spreadsheets and corporate accounts payable files.
- Assists corporate financial officers and branch personnel as necessary.
- Assists in monthly closings.
- Prepares analysis of accounts, as required.
- Performs filing and coping.
TRAVEL
- No travel is expected for this position.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
- This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some overtime is required.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two to three years' previous experience.
- Data entry skills
- Strong Mathematics
- Exemplary Customer Service skills.
- Time Management skills
- Experience using accounting software.
PREFERED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Two year degree in accounting
- Prior experience using YARDI accounting software.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Valid driver's license.
- Pass a Motor Vehicle, Drug Screen, Credit, and Criminal Background Check.
