With a strong legacy of providing cutting-edge technologies and services, we are seeking a Databricks / Python Developer to join our team and contribute to our mission of enhancing and modernizing national and regional programs for our government clients. Description: As a Databricks / Python Developer at Woolpert, you will play a pivotal role working with woolpert team members and clients on developing backend program and integration within the Azure Cloud Gov environment, with a primary emphasis on leveraging the capabilities of the Databricks platform. Collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams of engineers, geospatial experts, and environmental scientists, you will ensure the availability, interoperability, integrity, and security of data solutions for government clients. Requirements: S. citizenship Active Tier 1 Investigation (National Agency Check and Inquiries NACI), or security clearance, or the ability to pass a Tier 1 Investigation. Willingness to undergo a background check and drug screening. Ability and willingness to travel and meet clients as needed, up to 1 weeks per year. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience (3-4 years). Python development experience, specifically Azure Databricks, Apache Spark and Azure Storage. Experience managing and working with relational databases. Sound grasps of programming and database principles, ingestion processes, and API integrations. Familiarity with cloud computing concepts, specifically Azure Cloud Gov. Strong analytical and problem-solving acumen. Exceptional teamwork and communication skills. Ability to successfully pass comprehensive background checks required for government security clearance. Azure 900 and Databricks baseline certifications or the ability to attain within the first 6 weeks. Preferred Qualifications: Practical experience with Azure Cloud Gov services. Familiarity with geospatial data, GIS technologies, and pertinent geospatial standards. Knowledge of data storage tools and frameworks such as Hadoop and Spark. Experience handling sensitive data in secure government environments. Understanding of data governance and data security best practices. Exposure to version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines. Previous exposure to data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is advantageous. Responsibilities: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to elicit data requirements and architect effective data pipelines. Perform data transformations and cleansing operations to ensure data accuracy and consistency. Evolve existing scripts and notebooks to meet client needs. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines for seamless functionality. Ensure data solutions align with security and compliance standards mandated for government clients. Work closely with data architects to harmonize data models with project objectives. Document programming efforts and processes, technical specifications, and best practices. Coordinate with the broader team on API and data models changes to ensure project success. Develop scoped solutions to further enhance existing digital assets and project deliverables.
