Facility:Dayton Children's - Main CampusDepartment:Behavioral HealthSchedule:Full timeHours:36Job Details:The Mental Health Technician (MHT) functions under the direction of the Registered Nurse and is responsible for the direct care of behavioral health patients based on established standards and licensure guidelines. The MHT is responsible for knowledge and modeling of Dayton Children’s values through effective interaction with patients, families, and treatment team members while providing excellent care.
The Mental Health Technician (MHT) is responsible for performing supportive, trauma informed care to patients/families. Responsibilities include the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, completion of routine safety checks and constant attendance per order, adherence to patient-specific treatment plans, crisis intervention, assistance with activities of daily living, appropriate documentation, and collaboration with the treatment team. The MHT demonstrates competence in providing age-appropriate, trauma informed care and service for pediatric patients and actively participates in self-appraisal for performance improvement.
