Job Description:
Recognized as an internal expert and thought leader in area of expertise with broad experience across multiple job areas. Works under consultative direction against annual goals to manage large, complex project initiatives of strategic importance to the organization. Communicates within and outside of the organization to influence leadership to accept new practices, approaches, and concepts. Develops or champions new systems, concepts, or technologies. Recommends tactics and strategies that directly impact the achievement of overall business or functional results.
Essential Duties:
Develops, implements, and administers policies and programs related to one or more of the following areas: physical security, incident management, international, personnel security, communications security, access control, etc. Assesses programs keeps abreast of industry, regulatory changes, or new technology, and makes recommendations for changes and improvements.
Oversees the activities of vendors, guard forces, first responders, etc. Activities may include management and administration of security contracts, statements of work, and the procurement of goods and services.
Provides specific technical and/or broad-scope security support to programs, personnel, facilities, and security infrastructure. Manages experienced professionals, lower-level supervisors, or managers.
Often leads one or more teams or a department. Communicates within and outside of the organization to influence leadership to accept new practices, approaches, and concepts.
Develops or champions new concepts or technologies. Manages the implementation of functional strategies and recommends operational plans that directly impact the short- to mid-term function or business area results.
Requires broad management and cross-functional leadership knowledge and mastery level knowledge within a specific technical area or broad expertise across multiple related job areas.
Manages experienced professionals or team(s) led by lower-level supervisors or managers. Often leads one or more teams or a department. Responsible for creating workforce and staffing plans for teams or departments to ensure the availability of human capital necessary to accomplish departmental business results. Has hiring, firing, promotion, and compensation authority within own organization, in accordance with management review and approval. Reports to the Director or higher.
Communicates with parties within and outside of the organization, which includes larger customers or vendors. Works to influence others to accept the team's views or practices and agree/accept new concepts, practices, and approaches. Requires ability to communicate and influence leadership regarding matters of substantial importance to the function or business area. Frequently conducts briefings to senior leaders.
Responsible for improving upon existing or establishing new processes and systems using significant conceptualization, reasoning, and interpretation. Solutions are innovative and unique and draw upon best practices based on expertise. Develops or champions new concepts or technologies. Opportunities for problem-solving and innovation are often complex, requiring broad-based consideration of variables that impact multiple functions and/or businesses. Extensively analyzes problems to seek an understanding of the root cause of the problem.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
Must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
Requires mastery level knowledge within a specific technical area or multiple job areas. Viewed as an expert and/or resource within the field by peers in and outside the organization.
