Bell Captain
Position Requirements
- High School diploma preferred.
- Previous experience working in a related function in a hotel required.
Supervise bellpersons, doorpersons and drivers as well as perform the daily responsibilities of these positions in accordance with established guest service and sustainability standards.
Essential Job Functions
- Interview, select, train, schedule, coach and support associates, ensuring they perform in accordance with established brand or hotel standards and consistent with HHM core values.
- Evaluate the staffing requirements and prepare work schedules weekly, adhering to budget goals and ensuring sufficient staffing to meet daily business demands.
- Maintain security of and accurate records for all guest room keys issued to bell and door staff.
- Accommodate guest requests.
- Coordinate group luggage requirements.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness and working condition of departmental equipment/supplies.
- Ensure that pertinent information is documented in the log book daily.
- Load and unload luggage carts.
- Tag and store luggage.
- Escort guests to hotel rooms.
- Provide an overview of guest room, hotel services and amenities.
- Make deliveries to guest rooms.
- Assist guest with room changes.
- Maintain list/brochures of local attractions, transportation guides, churches, sports arenas, etc.
- Be aware of guest satisfaction scores and work toward increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction.
- Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM's EarthView program.
- Follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
- Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
Work Environment and Context
- Work schedule varies and may include working on holidays, weekends and alternate shifts.
- Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 50 pounds regularly, bending and reaching.
