Jones Sign CAD Programmer - De Pere, WI in De Pere, Wisconsin

This position is based out of our manufacturing facility located in De Pere, WI.

Job Summary:

Provide leadership and continuous improvement for the CAD department. Operate CAD/CAM-based computer software to provide programs and other critical details for CNC machines; create set up sheets and tooling sheets for the CNC operators. Manage all programs accessible to each machine, control current program revisions on the shop floor, and assist in the design of work holding fixtures. The essence and success of this position lies in collaborating with the fabrication team to strategize advanced programming methods to enhance fabrication speed, accuracy, and quality.

Duties and Expectations:

  • CAD file set-up to maximize output of the router

  • Retrieve CAD data and translate these files to the proper format to read files into offline programming software for designing, detailing and changes as per shop requirements.

  • Preparation of CNC programs for CNC controls in relevant language

  • Assist operators by answering questions pertaining to any problems found in the CNC programs and/or part files supplied

  • Prioritize continuous improvement to identify and implement processes that will improve productivity, quality, profitability

  • Quickly troubleshoot issues on-the-spot to meet customer quality expectations  

  • Consistently demonstrate sound safety practices, as well as the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Effectively manage time to ensure on-time delivery of every project  

  • Cross-train in the shop based on workload

  • Gain knowledge and expertise on the following equipment:

  • Trumpf 3040 6KW Fiber Laser

  • Multicam Water Jet

  • Beisse Rover A 2264G FT Router

  • Multicam Router (3000 and 5000)

Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • HS diploma: technical diploma preferred 

  • A minimum of 2-5 years of CAD experience on large CNC machine cutting equipment, including strong technical knowledge of machining processes

  • Routing experience along with familiarity of flexi-design software 

  • Ability to read blueprints  

  • Knowledge and understanding of Boost and AutoCAD preferred

  • Preferred knowledge and understanding of Fusion 360 software
