Corewell Health CT Technologist in Dearborn, Michigan
Job Summary
As a CT Technologist with Corewell Health, you can turn detailed images into life-changing diagnoses. You'll be responsible for performing accurate diagnostic CT exams while following regulations and ALARA principles of radiation protection. You'll be a vital part of our team, making a real difference in the lives of our patients and their families.
Essential Functions
Verifies patient identification and physician order.
Provides procedural information/education to the patient/family prior to each exam.
Acquires an accurate patient history and documents in the medical record.
Performs CT and related patient care procedures using age appropriate methods for patient’s physical ability and/or limitations.
Places IV’s as required for injection of contrast media.
Proficiently operates CT imaging equipment and performs necessary quality control and quality assurance testing.
Monitors patients during procedures to ensure patient safety.
Ensures STAT requests are relayed to radiologist in a timely manner.
Ensures equipment is wiped down between patients and exam room is clean and properly stocked with linen and supplies.
Accurately and efficiently uses hospital computer systems for verifying orders, viewing schedules and sending information to PAC’s.
Use effective inter/intra-departmental communication and participates with medical staff, management, technical and support staff.
Qualifications
Required Associate's Degree Graduate of Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) Accredited Radiography program.
1 year of relevant experience 1-3 years’ experience beyond staff radiographer level. Preferred
CRT-Radiologic Technologist Registration - ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Upon Hire required
CRT-Computerized Tomography (CT) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Excludes team members hired prior to 2008. 1 Year required
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required Or
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Upon Hire required
