Performance Driven Workforce is now hiring Full-Time Master Machinists for an Automotive Tier 1 Supplier. Master Machinists will prepare, cut, shape, and weld metal using hand tools and equipment such as band saws, material brakes, and material shears. This role will provide fabrication support for garage and shop services teams. The Master Machinist will also mentor and oversee team members' technical deliverables to ensure customer standards are met. This Full-Time Master Machinists position based out of Livonia, MI. and offers an AM Day shift + possible Overtime! Candidates meeting the requirements for this Master Machinist position below are strongly encouraged to apply. 

 

Shift Schedule:

  • Must be able to work 4 days/week, 10-hour shifts
  • Must be available to work Overtime, as needed

Responsibilities:

  • Weld Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) and Metal Inert Gas (MIG), silver solder and operate a spotwelding machine
  • Train, coach, and mentor team members related to their job responsibilities and is available as a subject matter expert to assist the team and customers
  • Perform quality checks on completed products
  • Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs
  • Operate lathes, Bridgeports, surface grinders, drill presses
  • Read and interpret engineering blueprints
  • Lead daily shop organization and clean-up

Requirements:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • High school Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 8 years of fabricator work experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) or Metai Inert Gas (MIG) welding experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience operating power brakes, shears and bench machines
  • Experience with 3D software
  • Advanced technical knowledge with reading, understanding, and executing fabrication and welding blueprints, schematics, and codes and knowledge of laying out material, taking measurements using a tape measure, scale, and height gauge.
  • Ability to use a surface plate to layout and locate material to X, Y, Z coordinates
  • Advanced ability to TIG and MIG weld steel, stainless steel, cast and aluminum
  • Advanced knowledge to safely operate fabrication shop machinery equipment such as plasma cutter, Oxy-Fuel torch, Bridgeport, Lathe, drill press, material shear, and press brake
  • Ability to operate vehicle lift
  • Strong customer service skills, detail oriented, good communication skills
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends
