The Manufacturing IT/ET Engineering Department is a team of IT/ET individuals who are responsible for ensuring the proper production and quality of automotive components, subsystems, powertrain (Vehicle/Engine/Transmission/Axle/Battery), and complete vehicles at our global plant sites, through technology. The Manufacturing Quality System (IQT) team supports and develops various Quality applications and tools to help our Vehicle Operations, Battery & Powertrain Teams.

We are seeking a Hands-on Full-stack Software Engineer with a proven ability to work with cross-functional teams including Advanced Manufacturing business partners, IT Staff, and end-users (including manufacturing engineers, and quality auditors). Familiarity with building web apps, microservice architectures, and REST APIs.

What you’ll be able to do:

  • Work hands-on with the team and other stakeholders to deliver quality software products that meetour customer’s requirements and needs.

  • Develop Angular applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) utilizing GCP services.

  • Serve as a Full Stack Software Engineer that enables the design, development, and support of APIs, Platforms, and services.

  • Develop Spring Boot/Java API/microservices on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) utilizing GCP services.

  • Review ongoing production software operations and troubleshoot production issues.

  • Deliver software frequently using Test Driven Development (TDD), continuous integration, and continuous deployment (CI/CD)

  • Work with team members to establish best practices to maximize efficiency and minimize risk.

  • Interact and work closely with product managers, product designers, and software engineers on the team to devise solutions and break them into incremental production-ready user stories.

The minimum requirements we seek:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field

  • 5+ years of Object-Oriented Development experience which includes applying expertise in building Java platform concepts with the following tools and technologies:

  • Spring Platform (Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Spring JDBC, Spring Cloud)

  • Automated Testing, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, and technologies (Jenkins CI or similar)

  • 5+ years of professional front-end experience utilizing at least one of the following web or mobile technologies: Angular (preferred), Typescript, React, or JavaScript

  • 3+ years of software engineering experience developing Back-End Rest APIs preferably with Java/Spring Boot.

  • Experience using software engineering best practices including:

  • Agile methods during the software development process.

  • Using a version control system to track source code.

  • Validating code with unit tests.

Our preferred requirements:

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electric Engineering, or a related field

  • Understanding of document-based databases i.e. NoSQL, MongoDB

  • Analyze user needs to determine how software should be built or if existing software should be modified.

  • Motivated to drive tasks to completion and take ownership of projects.

  • Collaborative, positive demeanor, and self-motivated

  • Strong teammate, with the ability to collaborate well with others, solve problems, and actively incorporate input from various sources.

  • Experience in Software craftsmanship principles and methodologies. Use of SonarQube, Sonar lint, GitHub Co-pilot for clean code and accelerated development

  • Team-oriented with excellent oral/written communication skills and willingness to work with global teams.
