Quality Control Assurance Specialist In Decatur, IL (Up to $25/hr)!

Job Description

As a Quality Control Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive quality checks adhering to ASME Code standards which include tasks such as nozzle fit up, flange fit up, shell layouts, and more. Your role will involve ensuring the timely completion of travelers and hold points, witnessing hydro tests for ASME compliance, and collaborating with managerial staff to address discrepancies in received materials. You will also manage the documentation process for MTRs, scan job packages for record retention, and ensure the proper stamping of nameplates. Additionally, you will perform in-house NDE tests, assist in on-the-floor training, and manage shifting responsibilities across departments. Your role is crucial in maintaining the high standards of quality and efficiency in our operations.

Hard Skills

  • Quality check experience in a metal shop

  • Experience with various measuring tools/devices

  • Blueprint reading

  • Forklift operating

  • Knowledge of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code, Section VIII, Division 1

  • Basic math and organization skills

Job Type

This is a contract position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Decatur, Illinois.

Work Environment

The facility spans over 6 acres with 4 buildings and 50,000 square feet of production floor space. The work schedule is a first shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
