The Country Butcher General Production - Harvest Area in Decatur, Indiana
POSITION: GENERAL PRODUCTION, HARVEST AREA SHIFT: First DEPARTMENT: Production/Harvest POSITION TYPE: Full-time; Hourly PAY RANGE: $20 -$25 per hour depending on experience
OBJECTIVE: We are looking for a general production employee in the Harvest area to join our team and perform productions functions in an efficient and quality manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Work in an area where livestock will be harvested. Perform a variety of specialized tasks in a cold work environment. Work in areas requiring lifting, pulling, and pushing up to 50 lbs. Willing and capable of working overtime when necessary. Perform repetitive hand motions and body movements. Physically demanding jobs may take 5 to 6 weeks for the body to fully adjust to the work conditions, work environment and job descriptions. Willing to bend stoop, and twist repetitively throughout an entire shift. Properly use tools such as knives, hooks, saws, or other specialized equipment. Perform physical tasks which require upper body strength and constant repetitive movements of arms, back, and hips. Stand on hard surfaces the entire shift; use of stairs and personal protection equipment (PPE) is required in all areas of the facility. Compliance with all food safety policies and regulations. Adhere to all safety and housekeeping processes and procedures to ensure safety for our employees, customers, and visitors. NOTE: this description is not intended to be all-inclusive. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Required): Must be 18 years of age or older. Lifting/Pulling/Pushing - 10-50 lbs. Neutral Wrist - Repetitive hand motions and grasping. Must be able to work in a variety of work temperatures warm, hot, humid, cold, wet or with slippery surfaces at varied heights in and around moving equipment and parts with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Must be able to perform the job duties with or without reasonable accommodations. Ability to work extended scheduled hours Monday through Friday. Must be able to work overtime as required. Start times and hours vary based on production needs.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS: Prior harvest or fabrication experience. Prior production experience. Knife Skills
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment is a combination of corporate and manufacturing. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to cold, hot, and/or humid conditions. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
