Director HR and HSEQ North America

Location: Deer Park, Texas

Responsibilities include human resources management, developing and implementing an HR strategy that supports business objectives, leading a team of HR professionals in the North America region and ensuring compliance with all labor laws. In addition, the position will be responsible for the regional HR Business Partners and ensuring legal compliance in the countries where the company operates in the North America region. The ideal candidate will have extensive HR experience, knowledge of North America labor law and proven leadership ability. This position offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to the development and implementation of HR strategy in a global environment and requires excellent interpersonal communication skills and a high level of strategic thinking. This role serves as an interface and strategic business partner to Regional Executive Management North America for HR and HSEQ. The role provides guidance on a variety of strategic HR topics and represents regional needs to Chief HR and HSEQ Officer and Corporate HR. The role brings global strategic issues and projects / initiatives from the CoE's to the North America region and acts as a Subject Matter Expert and generalist for strategic HR issues. The future incumbent will act as an HR strategist, change agent and implementation consultant in the North America region.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategic HR and HSEQ management

  • Development and implementation of an HR strategy that supports the company's and promotes long-term success

  • Further development and implementation of HSEQ processes and initiatives

  • Ensuring compliance with corporate guidelines, standards and processes in relation to HR and HSEQ in the region North America

    Operational HR responsibility

  • Management and optimization of all HR operations in North America, including employee recruitment, onboarding, talent management, performance appraisal, employee retention and development.

  • Ensuring smooth personnel management and compliance with legal requirements in the legal requirements in the region

    Regional Business Partner

  • Leading the regional team of HR Business Partners and ensure that HR and HSEQ initiatives are effectively implemented at regional level

  • Work closely with the business partners to understand the business strategy and deliver HR solutions that meet the business needs meet the business needs

  • Collaborate with the Chief HR and HSEQ Officer and Corporate HR in the development of Develop innovative HR solutions that reflect specific regional needs

  • Coordinate the consolidated regional/business requirements of the countries/LEs

    Labor law

  • Ensuring compliance with all labor law regulations in North America as well as in other countries in which the company operates

  • Develop and update employment contracts, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with laws and regulations

    Technical Knowledge and Skills :

  • The ability to develop a long-term HR strategy and align it with the company's align it with the company's objectives

  • The ability to lead, motivate and manage a team of HR professionals

  • Comprehensive knowledge of labor law in the region North America and an understanding of international legislation

  • The ability to plan, manage and implement HR and HSEQ projects and initiatives in an international context

  • A strong awareness of compliance with company policies and processes, ethical standards and legal requirements

  • The ability to forecast the organization's staffing requirements and to plan measures for long-term talent development

  • Sensitivity to cultural differences and the ability to work in an international environment work in an international environment

    Qualifications:

  • Completed Master's degree or similar qualification in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Law / Labor Law or a related discipline

  • Interest in the area of Health Management, Safety, Environment is desirable

  • Minimum of 10-12 years progressive HR experience

  • Proven experience in senior HR positions, ideally in a global environment

  • Comprehensive knowledge of labor law in the region North America as well as experience in international legal compliance

  • Solid experience in the implementation of HSEQ initiatives, projects and programs

  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and manage a team of HR professionals lead a team of HR professionals

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills

  • Strategic thinking and the ability to align HR initiatives with business objectives align HR initiatives with business objectives
