Aston Carter Accounts Payable Manager in Deerfield Beach, Florida

Job Title : Accounts Payable Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable:

  • Manage the Accounts Payable team to ensure efficient invoice processing, vendor maintenance, electronic imaging, and procurement system interfaces.

  • Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure service levels and analyst performance.

  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities using technologies such as RPA, OCR, SAP, or other Invoice to Pay software.

  • Design and establish world-class AP processes within the Procure to Pay cycle to drive transactional productivity.

  • Oversee the accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.

  • Resolve procure-to-pay process issues by collaborating with upstream departments to refine procedures and address inefficiencies.

  • Manage vendor relationships, resolving discrepancies or disputes, and ensuring timely communication regarding payments and account statuses.

  • Coordinate with the Corporate Tax team to ensure compliance with sales and use tax requirements.

    Overall Departmental Duties:

  • Collaborate with the manager to set departmental priorities, address business process corrective actions, and ensure adequate team resourcing and development.

  • Develop, track, and report on departmental performance metrics regularly.

  • Engage with the accounting team to support an accurate and efficient month-end close process.

  • Provide leadership in addressing business process issues and work effectively with necessary functions to develop optimal organizational solutions.

  • Initiate cross-training for all accounting services and act as a backup when required.

  • Manage workload between teams to provide resource flexibility during peak demand periods.

  • Create and maintain a disaster recovery manual.

  • Actively participate in systems development initiatives impacting Accounts Payables and provide feedback to ensure optimized systems design.

  • Design and schedule training for team members.

  • Ensure proper internal control guidelines are followed for all department procedures.

  • Set employee goals, provide coaching, and complete professional development plans.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business management.

  • 5-8 years of experience in accounts payables and accounts receivables.

  • 3 years of experience managing a team.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.

  • Knowledge of SAP system preferred.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize responsibilities.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
